Playing classic-rock records backward to reveal some mystery message seems silly when there's just as much to ponder when the songs are playing forward. Like, what drugs was Steve Miller on when he rhymed "Texas" with "facts is" in "Take the Money and Run?" Or consider Led Zeppelin's cryptic lyrics in "Stairway to Heaven": "If there's a bustle in your hedgerow...." Any moron knows that you don't want a bustle at all, and especially not in your hedgerow. So what's Zep trying to tell us? Perhaps the Bissell Mansion Restaurant & Dinner Theatre's (4426 Randall Place; www.bissellmansiontheatre.com) production of Stairway to Heaven will help crack the code, as Jan S. Joplin and Jack Blues struggle to help murdered Melvis Cleverly climb said stairway. But who killed him?
