Tiny trains, big fun

For as long as she can remember, Ms. Day has loved trains. Whether she's drawn to the old-timey romance of the tracks or is lured by the power behind that rhythmic chug-chug-ing, it doesn't matter — she just plain adores riding the rails. And through all of her years of firsthand locomotive studies, Conductor Day has found that the only thing better than a roaring full-size engine is a tiny twelve-inch-gauge steam train. So join her every Sunday through the end of October as she feels the wind in her hair while aboard one of the Wabash, Frisco & Pacific Railroad's nearly toy-size trains. The rides are a half-hour long, trains leave every twenty minutes from 11 a.m. until 4:15 p.m., and a $3 donation is requested from those older than three. The WF&P is located in Wildwood near the intersection of Grand Avenue and Second Street; for more information about the railroad and for directions, call 636-587-3538 or visit www.wfprr.com.
Sundays. Starts: Oct. 1. Continues through Oct. 29
