When: Tue., Nov. 10, 7-9 p.m. 2015
@ Lindenwood University-Harmon Hall, Dunseth Auditorium, 209 S. Kingshighway, St. Charles, MO 63301
Dr. Lorri Glover (John Francis Bannon, S.J., Professor of History at Saint Louis University) will discuss the role of the Founding Fathers in contemporary political culture. Twenty-first-century Americans routinely invoke the Founding Fathers as the ultimate guide to current policy debates. But too often, answers to that eternal question "what would the Founders do?" misunderstand--or willfully ignore--the eighteenth-century world the Founders lived in and the deeply divisive and personal politics they practiced. The event is free and open to the public. Sponsored by the Lindenwood American Culture Speaker Series, with support from the Missouri Humanities Council.
