Underwear

(Under There)

As you all know, Ms. Day is quite the lady and would normally never discuss her underpinnings in privacy, let alone in the pages of a newspaper! But in honor of Hoorah for the Bra, a book-launch party celebrating the tome of the same name, Lady Day is willing to admit — just this once — that she is, in fact, at this moment, wearing...a bra. (It's true.) You see, many women proudly adore the bra (author and designer Cheree Berry is obviously a shout-it-from-the-rooftops fan); some other women prefer not to discuss such matters but wear the brassiere nevertheless (ahem); and still other ladies hate the bra so much that they have performed ritualistic burnings to cleanse themselves of the cups-in-the-front-two-loops-in-the-back contraption. Fortunately, no matter what kind of woman you are — or what kind of man (from wearers to backseat clasp-fumblers) — you are guaranteed to enjoy Hoorah for the Bra, which details the history of the bra in the most delightful way possible: pop-up-book format. Sexy! To be a part of the fun, arrive at the Des Lee Gallery (1627 Washington Avenue; 314-621-8735) at 7 p.m. this evening. Ms. Berry signs her book, and Ms. Day will be blushing the whole time.
