"Tropical Rainforest" tells the story of the 400 million-year evolution of tropical rain forests, their recent and rapid destruction, and the intense efforts of scientists to understand them even as they disappear. This film has close up scenes of both small and large animals that a casual visitor might miss, including leaf-cutting ants inside their nest, colorful butterflies, hummingbirds, orchids, and monkeys high in the forest canopy to give viewers a better appreciation of the importance of tropical rain forests on a global scale.
