Time Dancer


This weekend, Degas' famed sculpture The Little Dancer of Fourteen Years springs to life inside the cozy confines of the Center of Creative Arts' Family Theatre (524 Trinity Avenue, University City; 314-725-1834, extension 24 or In The Little Dancer Travels Through Time, the bounding ballerina glides through artistic masterpieces of the ages with support from 35 other dancers of the Ballet Eclectica Troupe. Projected backdrops of paintings from the Saint Louis Art Museum's collection set an ever-changing scene for the Little Dancer's adventures, which are expressed through classical and contemporary dance styles. Performances are at 7 p.m. Friday, 3 and 5 p.m. Sunday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday (December 11 through 13), and a tea party with the performers takes place after the Sunday performance. Tickets are $14 to $22.
