The Schwag Plays the Shanti's Final Show

What a long, strange trip it's been for the Shanti, which held its farewell jam on November 29, 2014. The self-proclaimed hippie bar in Soulard had hosted nightly cover-free concerts since 1999 and had become a Mardi Gras staple.

A frequent Shanti performer, local Grateful Dead cover band the Schwag closed out the bar's 15-year run with an energetic set of peace and love, with the scent of patchouli wafting through the air.
