The Original Girl Gone Wild

by

Nanette is young and wild and wants to be free, to quote the old Triumph song, but sadly for her, it's still early in the Roaring '20s, and proper young girls don't behave that way. Her wealthy guardians, Jimmy and Sue, just want to instill some morals in her -- but Tom Trainor, the would-be swain, will not be denied the glory that is Nanette. Does she follow the advice to just say No, No Nanette? Well, the big hit song from the 1925 musical is "Tea for Two," but don't let that fool you -- Atlantic City, fleshpot of New Jersey, beckons always. Webster University's Conservatory of Theatre Arts presents No, No Nanette at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday (April 25 through 29), at the Loretto-Hilton Center (130 Edgar Road; 314-968-7128). Tickets are $5 to $10.
