The Market Is for Lovers

Not to sound obsessive or anything, but we'd like to eat arancini — those delicious Italian rice balls that taste like the lovechild of risotto and hush puppies — weekly. Or, um, daily. OK, OK: We have this recurring fantasy about jumping into a Chuck E. Cheese's-style ball pit filled with arancini from Lorenzo's Trattoria. So you'd better believe we're thrilled that Lorenzo's executive chef, Larry Fuse Jr., is the featured gourmand this week at Chefs at the Market. Fuse's cooking lesson commences at 10 a.m. today at the venerable Soulard Farmer's Market (South Seventh Street and Lafayette Avenue). Lorenzo's is one of the most innovative Italian spots on the Hill, so no matter which recipes Fuse chooses for this free demonstration (pleasepleasemakericeballs), the food's gonna be great. Will he reveal the secrets of his fork-tender osso buco? Will he bust out the pillow-soft spinach gnocchi? You have to go to know. Just don't step in front of us if arancini are on offer. Seriously. Don't. For more information call 314-622-4180 or visit stlouis.missouri.org/citygov/soulardmarket.
