The Kingdom of Clue

Is at hand

Which came first: Clue, the movie, or Clue, the game? A movie based on a bored, er, board game doesn't sound like such a good idea, because — let's face it — Clue is OK to play, but it requires a lot of imagination. Yet, apparently, that's how things happened. Fortunately, the film Clue fills in the gaps you never could while sitting on your family-room floor, and in hilarious fashion. Tim Curry is the butler — or is he? And all of the main characters — Mrs. White, Mrs. Peacock, Mr. Green, Colonel Mustard, Miss Scarlet and Professor Plum — have lines worth shouting out throughout the silly whodunit. See how many parts you remember (will it be "one plus two plus one plus one"?) and which of the three endings you believe when Clue screens at midnight on Friday and Saturday (July 28 and 29) and at 10 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, at the Tivoli Theatre (6350 Delmar Boulevard, University City; 314-995-6270). Tickets cost $6.50.
