The Hard Lessons

7 p.m. Wednesday, April 4. Creepy Crawl (3524 Washington Boulevard).

If Detroit rockers the Hard Lessons were the subject of a television show, the players couldn't have been cast better. The keyboardist is a babe named Ko Ko Louise, the drummer is a very small man who calls himself the Anvil, and the frontman, Augie — a spear-the-ceiling-with-your-guitar kind of guy — is somewhere between the two. Purveyors of bluesy, stripped-down Motor City garage rock, the Lessons drive around the country, putting on shows so loud and righteous they could raise dead rock fans from the grave. Now that would make for good TV.
