The little Corsican who attempted to conquer Europe and parts of North Africa became famous for his military success, his Napoléonic Code and the sheer audacity with which he pursued everything he desired. Treasures of Napoléon, an exhibition of artworks and artifacts from the life of the First Emperor and his closest friends and relations, provides a closer look at the man behind the legend. Treasures of Napoléon opens Saturday, November 13, at the Missouri History Museum (Lindell Boulevard and DeBaliviere Avenue; 314-746-4599 or, and remains on display through Sunday, April 3, 2011.
