The Creepiest Place on Earth

The innovative indy-film scene has a new champion in Randy Moore and his guerrilla-shot debut feature Escape from Tomorrow. This surreal psychological thriller is set at Disney World and was filmed on location with hand-held cameras -- and without permits. Moore's daring film follows a man named Jim on the last day of his family's vacation. Informed by phone that he's been laid off, Jim chooses to keep his unemployment secret from his family, but he slowly falls apart during the course of the day. He becomes infatuated with a pair of underage French girls, discovers a secret prostitution ring and potentially is exposed to something called "cat fever." Escape from Tomorrow screens at 7:30 Friday through Sunday (January 17 through 19) at Webster University's Moore Auditorium (470 East Lockwood Avenue; 314-968-7487 or, and it might be your only chance to see it for a while. Tickets are $4 to $6.
