When: Sun., March 12, 3-5 p.m. 2017
Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil, also called the Vespers, is some of the most divine a cappella music ever written. The text includes several Psalms plus the Gloria in excelsis, Ave Maria, Magnificat, and Nunc dimittis. Rachmaninoff chose to express his personal religious faith by writing this quiet, reflective and deeply moving work that has become a haunting cornerstone of the choral repertoire. The concert concludes with a wine and cheese reception. Free, gated parking. Tickets range from $10-$45. Visit www.bachsociety.org or call 314-652-BACH for tickets.
