Tap Out

Jul 26, 2012 at 4:00 am
Like all forms of dance, tap has its own vibe. There's none of the sweet, subtle ambiance of ballet or the quirky, unpredictable attitude of modern dance -- instead, tap delivers bombastic pizzazz, with rhythm and volume to boot. This weekend All That Tap XXI brings all that and more to the stage of the Touhill Performing Arts Center on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus (One University Drive at Natural Bridge Road). Tonight at 7 p.m. expect to see (and hear) old-school stuff and new, plus hip-hop, international styles and much, much more. There's even a young bone-cancer survivor who continued tapping even after his leg was amputated. To purchase your $35 ticket for Evan Ruggiero's inspiring performance and the rest of the showcase, call 314-516-4949 or visit www.touhill.org.
