Stone Temple Pilots

2 p.m. Sunday, June 8. Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, 14141 Riverport Drive, Maryland Heights.

We were almost safe from the horrors of the post-grunge alternative muck of the mid- to late-'90s — and then Stone Temple Pilots had to reunite. Why? Perhaps a silent majority of closet STP fans long to publically air-guitar along to "Interstate Love Song." Perhaps millions of unspoken folks consider Slash, Duff and Matt Sorum to be the weak links in Velvet Revolver. Maybe we all finally want to find out where she's going for tomorrow, where she's going with the mask she found. Regardless of the legitimacy of the demand, Stone Temple Pilots will perform in St. Louis with support from nü-metalists Chevelle and Saliva. Just try not to trip over the empty Natural Light cans or slip in dude piss in the parking lot on your way out.
