If you define "choreography" very loosely, the somewhat-nocuous combination of dance and drink that occurs every weekend in nightclubs across the land could perhaps count as such. Yet all of that off-balance bumping and grinding pales in comparison to what will go down this weekend at the Centene Center for Arts & Education (3547 Olive Street). The aTrek Dance Collective's Choreography & Cocktails event offers up the much more artfully construed movements of modern dance. And while dancers do the dancing, you will do the drinking. The performers include the nonprofit's artistic directors Diana Barrios and Betsy Brandt Hartland along with other exemplary movers and shakers. Choreography & Cocktails happens at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Sunday (April 17 through 20). Admission costs $10 to $15.
