St. Louis Underground Music Festival

2 p.m. Saturday, May 29. Atomic Cowboy, 4140 Manchester Avenue.

The first-ever St. Louis Underground Music Festival boasts a lineup of local talent longer than DMX's rap sheet. All of the usual suspects are expected to be in attendance: Veterans such as Black Spade, Nite Owl and the Midwest Avengers will be sharing the stage with a mix of newcomers and familiar faces alike in honor of homegrown hip-hop. In addition to the live DJs and scheduled performers, the all-day affair will feature live art as well as battles for emcees, producers and b-boys. Last year the venue expanded to include an outdoor stage — and with over 70 names on the bill for this event, the additional space won't go to waste.
