Now that culture vultures are rapidly mining every aspect of the 1990s for inspiration -- a rumored reunion of the Spice Girls was the last, abhorrent straw -- the next trend ripe for revival is the late-'90s ska renaissance. Not that local bands playing the St. Louis Ska Fest III care about the style's popularity among the tweenyboppers. Veteran sextet the Secret Cajun Band has been doing its Fishbone-esque skanking around town for the past fifteen years, while relative newbies Oskaloosa -- who hail from Staunton, Illinois, and lean toward the punkier side of things -- and second-/ third-wave rudies the Monskasities represent for youthful authenticity.

Doors open at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $8; call 314-851-0919 for more information.
