The concert focuses on “Return and Rediscovery,” featuring reconstructions of fragmentary works by Sheppard, Fattorini and Gesualdo. Roman poet Catullus’ return to Sirmio is recalled in music by Mátyás Seiber and American Goth composer, Monica Richards. Odysseus' travails are explored a world premiere, “Ceaselessly Weaving Your Name,” by British composer Judith Bingham, who will be present. The Chamber Chorus also explores re-purposing old texts and music, including “From An Unknown Past,” early song cycle by Rorem, and Peter Cornelius’ “Drei Psalmlieder.” Join us in a reception to greet composer Bingham and honor Linda Ryder for her work!
