Most band members have a common thread that unites them — it could be friendship, a productive working relationship or a shared vision. But what happens when you erase all those factors, place a handful of strangers in a band and charge them with the task of writing three new songs? Find out at the sixth annual Band Scramble. The conceit's genius lies in its simplicity: Five musicians from different bands and backgrounds are randomly assigned to a group and given a month to write a trio of songs. The seven ad hoc groups will perform for the crowd's adulation, and the proceeds will provide scholarships to Dave Simon's Rock School.
