Hank Stamper and his father, Henry Stamper own and operate a family logging business in Oregon. When Hank's half brother, Leland returns after a ten year absence tensions rise. Leleand resents his father's treatment of his late mother. Henry doesn't like his prodigal son's hippie mind-set. And Hank perceives Leland as a threat to his position in the family business. He has reason to worry. It isn't long before his neglected wife begins an affair with Leland.
