So Many Dynamos

8 p.m. Thursday, November 3. Foam Coffee & Beer, 3359 South Jefferson Avenue.

Best of luck tracing the wildly winding trajectory of St. Louis' frantic champions. You would be forgiven for losing the trail in the past couple of years: The band has turned over 50 percent of its membership, settled into Cherokee Street and built its present sound more or less from scratch. Expect to see a fully reimagined and reinvigorated Dynamos emerge in 2012, and this residency amounts to one last chemistry experiment. A look at the opening acts for these shows will give you some idea of how broad a palette the band is operating with: Black Spade, Volcanoes, M.S.I.F. and Syna So Pro, who is kicking this particular one off with her dizzying one-woman loop pedal fireworks.

Before You Go: Listen to the Dynamos' recent KDHX (88.1 FM) in-studio session for a few songs so fresh they don't even have names.
