Smut Puppets

Avenue Q tells the story of a group of twentysomething puppets trying to survive in an "outer-outer borough" of New York City in a musical format similar to Sesame Street -- though its language and plot are decidedly not kid-friendly. The songs in Avenue Q have titles such as "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist," "What Do You Do With a B.A. in English" and "The Internet Is for Porn," and are biting overdoses of cynicism and sarcasm, but leavened with humor. Take a stroll down Avenue Q at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday (May 3 through 11), when Take Two Productions presents the show at Tower Grove Abbey (2336 Tennessee Avenue). Tickets cost $13 to $18. For more information, visit taketwoproductions.org.
Wednesdays-Saturdays. Starts: May 3. Continues through May 11, 2013
