Upon arrival to Smuggler's Inn with a camera, I was accosted almost immediately by a stern woman inquiring just what my business was. When I explained that I was with the RFT, updating bar listings, she laughed and replied "Well this place ain't nothing more than a hole in the wall!" and immediately led me inside. In business for over 20 years, the tiny bar has accumulated a colorful cast of regulars who are quick to buy you a drink and tell you all about their family -- as it turns out the woman I spoke with was one such regular, and her son's picture was hanging on the wall behind the bar. While "hole in the wall" may be accurate in a size-related sense, it should be noted that Smuggler's Inn just may be the friendliest hole you'll ever have the pleasure to visit.
