Shut Yer Trap

Chappy's the name; throwing tomahawks, the game. City folk ask all the dang time, "Chappy, why you throwin' tomahawks?" Because it's a valuable skill! A man come runnin' at you all set to steal your sorghum and cornpone, why, you just whip a 'hawk at 'im. Problem solved — early-American-style! Come on out to the Trappers of Starved Rock Fall Rendezvous (Sioux Passage Park, 17930 Old Jamestown Road, Florissant;, and you'll see lots o' mountain folk who know the value of a trusty tomahawk, fire-starting, trap-setting and a good jar o' apple butter. Admission is free (thrift is a trapper virtue), and we'll be set up from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday (October 7 and 8).
Sat., Oct. 7; Sun., Oct. 8
