Shall We Play A Game?

Andrew Wyke is a wealthy man thanks to his ongoing series of detective novels. He's invited young Milo Tindle to his country manor to discuss a shared problem: Andrew's wife, who is Milo's mistress. Andrew, an upper-crust Englishman with a love of puzzles and games, has a proposition for his wife's lover. Milo should steal Mrs. Wyke's jewelry from the home and use it to support her in the manner to which she's accustomed. Ah, but should a man ever enter into a criminal compact with a clever puzzle master whose main business is conceiving elaborate whodunits? Anthony Shaffer's Sleuth is a torturous labyrinth of twists and reversals, as Andrew and Milo stage a battle of intellects in a house where nothing is what it seems. The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis presents Sleuth Tuesday through Sunday (October 14 through November 8) on the Browning Mainstage of the Loretto-Hilton Center (130 Edgar Road, Webster Groves; 314-968-4925 or Tickets are $18 to $68.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: Oct. 14. Continues through Nov. 8, 2009
