Sunday Afternoon Film Series. The Holocaust Museum and Learning Center hosts a monthly series of movies relating to the Holocaust. This month features Andrzej Wajda's Kanal (1957). Hailed as a cinematic landmark -- it was one of the first films to address the Holocaust -- Kanal traces the story of the final days of the Warsaw ghetto uprising by following three groups of resistance fighters as they go underground through the sewer system in an attempt to regroup with their fighting brethren. Plays at 2 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Holocaust Museum.
