Santa Claus Is Coming Downtown

After work Thursday, shut down the computer, roll down your sleeves and take that much needed downtime Downtown, where no less than 20 of St. Louis' finest establishments join forces to inaugurate the Downtown Winter Fest. Participating businesses include Lola (500 North Fourteenth Street), Flamingo Bowl (1117 Washington Avenue) and the Washington Ave Post (1312 Washington Avenue), and every venue will offer something special to customer between 3 p.m. and 3 a.m. In addition to the bounty of food and drink specials, downtowners can look forward to an exotic car show, a table top sports tournament, multiple scavenger hunts and plenty of live entertainment. Word is that none other than Santa Claus is taking a break from his preparations at the North Pole to attend the event, and there will be photo ops with the big man himself. For those without the benefit of flying reindeer to navigate the city, free shuttles will be provided to make the Winter Fest rounds all in one night.
