Roped In

It's the sort of case any private dick would give his eye teeth to crack: A valuable painting that's been in storage for so long, it's been forgotten turns out to be missing completely. The north St. Louis warehouse it's supposed to be in is still there, and the manager of the warehouse, Leslie, is still in charge of the operation, but the painting, well, it's just disappeared. Does Leslie know anything about it? Does Carl, her rough-around-the-edges co-worker, know something? How 'bout Will, Leslie's fiancé? What's he know? Stan, an independent investigator in desperate need of cash and a big break, is hot on the case. All he needs to do is figure out who has the motive and he has the prime suspect. But can anyone really know what drives another person to do anything? That's the real mystery in Robert Strasser's noir play, A Length of Rope. The Tin Ceiling presents this journey into intrigue and deception at 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday (November 30 through December 16) at 3159 Cherokee Street (314-375-1511 or Tickets are $8.
Fridays-Sundays. Starts: Nov. 30. Continues through Dec. 16, 2007
