Christmas brings the Santa Claus films out of the mothballs, but in the case of Rene Cardona's 1959 film, Santa Claus, the mothballs might be better for you. Santa here watches earth from his high-tech orbiting castle. When he sees poor little Lupita wish for a doll, he takes off to make her wish reality. He also wants to help Billy, a poor little rich kid whose parents ignore him. You'd think this would be easy for Santa, but the Devil himself wants to ruin Christmas for everyone. The devil dispatches his agent Pitch to head Santa off. It's a crazy-bad holiday film that makes no sense. Fortunately the RiffTrax guys (Mike Nelson, Bill Corbett and Kevin Murphy) narrate, mock and skewer the film in a live simulcast from Nashville, Tennessee. RiffTrax Live: Santa Claus is the Christmas movie no one asked for, but you're getting it anyway.
