Ride Free

Tonight marks the sixth installment of the St. Louis World Naked Bike Ride, which is one of the highlights of the summer. On this sure to be hot and sweaty night St. Louisans show their support for alternative energy and non-gasoline-powered transportation, as well as proving good-looking activists come in all shapes and sizes. Riders are encouraged to wear as little as they're personally comfortable with, but once you're in that heaving mass of cyclists you'll see all kinds of bodies in various states of undress, and you'll soon realize your particular body fits right in. The WNBR starts at 6 p.m. with a rally at the South Grand Parking Lot (South Grand Boulevard and Hartford Street; www.wnbrstl.org). Riders depart at 8 p.m., and the after-party is once again at the HandleBar (4127 Manchester Avenue) and Atomic Cowboy (4140 Manchester Avenue) in the Grove. Participation in the ride is free, but you'll need money for the after-party -- figuring out where to keep your wallet during the ride may require a little thought and creativity.
