Rap the Vote

8 p.m. Monday, November 3. FUBAR, 3108 Locust Street.

While guitar-toting troubadours have been rallying young people to Rock the Vote for nearly twenty years now, a certain presidential candidate has finally prompted hip-hop heads to rap the vote. On election eve, Ruka Puff, Hakeem The Dream, Koko and several other St. Louis hip-hop artists are hosting a special get out and vote benefit concert. In a truly bi-partisan gesture, Ruka Puff, the event's organizer, was quick to emphasize that the elusive McCain voter/hip-hop fan is more than welcome:  "We're not going at it like this for Obama, we're going at it, like, just go vote, period."
