Very few things are more satisfying than uncovering a yard-sale treasure. Look, an adorable knit top that is so much cuter than most of this year’s Missoni collection! Ooh, an old map of the Louisiana Purchase that’s perfect for the home office! Holy hell, a Jawa action figure in its original packaging! While that last one might be far-fetched (calm down, nerds), the fact remains that a great rummage sale is a thing of beauty. What could make it even better? Beer. Music. A pig roast. Live the dream at Pork Shop this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Schlafly Tap Room (2100 Locust Street). Peruse the wares of more than 50 local residents (bartering and haggling allowed!). Then, enjoy one of the many delicious Schlafly brews on tap, including the perfect-on-a-warm-afternoon Summer Lager. Partake in the pig roast and listen to great live music by acts including Bunnygrunt, Tone Rodent and Beth Bombara. Admission to the event is free, but bring money for eats, drinks and treasures. And if you're feeling generous, bring your own items to donate to MERS Goodwill. For more information, call 314-241-2337 or visit www.schlafly.com.
