Plight of the Dancing Dead

Ever since Michael Jackson's "Thriller" popularized the dancing dead, the public has been under the impression that zombies are masters of getting down. Even the faintest whiff of the living dead's putrid, rotting flesh will tell you that zombies are indeed funky, but a body recently risen from the grave generally does not have sufficient muscle tone to bust a move -- most are best suited to the hug-and-sway slow jam. St. Lou Fringe is here to help. Tonight StLF host Zombie Prom: A Night to Dismember and from 8 p.m. 'til the stroke of midnight, all ghouls who passed away at the age of 18 and older are invited to have a grand time at the Grandel Theater's (3610 Grandel Square). Just $20 nets area zombies all they can eat and drink and at 8 p.m., Lindy Hop will offer swing dance lessons to particularly rotten zombies for a $5 schooling fee. Dress appropriately -- those deemed to be the most horrifying will be crowned Queen and King of the Prom! For all the gory details, shamble this way: www.stloufringe.wordpress.com.
