Over the River and to Kirkwood

Christmas is closer than you think

Here at Night & Day Global Industries, we're feeling especially confused by the impending holiday season. What happened to September? How are we already smack-dab in the third week of November? Was there a coma or maybe even a time machine involved? Is the election to blame? Perhaps we'll never know. At any rate, dwelling in the past is just a waste of time, and we all need to embrace the holidays by putting a brave face forward. The Downtown Kirkwood Holiday Walk (314-822-0084 or is just the event to get us (and you) in the festive spirit. The fun begins at 10 a.m. when Santa and the missus arrive at the Kirkwood train station (110 West Argonne Drive) to accept letters, pose for pictures ($5) and tell stories. After visiting with them, we'll get in the giving groove by hopping aboard a free trolley that will cruise Kirkwood from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., dropping us off at various shops offering snacks and special deals. And we'll be sure to stop by the Kirkwood Farmers' Market (150 East Argonne Drive) — which Summit Farms has transformed into a Christmas Market featuring all manner of natural decorations (trees, poinsettias and more) and samples of specialty food items (until 4 p.m.) — so we can take a bit of the holiday spirit home.
