At your ripe old age, you likely feel that you're a holiday expert. You know when you prefer to shop, what cookies you enjoy eating and where you want to experience the joy of the season. And we're sure you've had a lovely December thus far following your plan. But what if you're missing something incredibly fun and festive? What if the season could be all the merrier if you just added a visit to one very special, very cheerful corner of our fair metropolis? Rather than jeopardizing your reaching your maximum jolliness, make plans instead to check out Saint Charles Christmas Traditions. During this festival, stroll along historic Main Street in St. Charles and have a look at all kinds of decorations, Santas from around the globe, roasted chestnuts, shops upon shops full of gifts and much more. The fun runs through Monday, December 24, and concludes with a warm sendoff of one super-busy, uber-jolly Mr. Claus, who will depart the streets of St. Chuck at 1:30 p.m. to begin his marathon toy delivery. Visit www.historicstcharles.com for directions to the fest, and go to www.stcharleschristmas.com for a full schedule of events.
Wednesdays-Sundays; Mon., Dec. 24. Starts: Dec. 1. Continues through Dec. 23, 2012
