Oberhofer/Flaming Death Trap/Dubb Nubb

9 p.m. Wednesday, January 26. The Billiken Club, 20 North Grand Boulevard in the Busch Student Center at Saint Louis University.

Oberhofer (which is named after frontman Brad Oberhofer) is a very new band with a youthful sound. The band's music combines the wailing vocals of Passion Pit with the rampant, ecstatic style of Animal Collective and the catchy instrumentation and yearning lyrics of the Postal Service. With nothing more than a seven-inch under its belt, Oberhofer is building hype and expectation all over the Internet. This show is that rare opportunity to see the Next Big Thing before most folks realize who they are — and for free, no less. Local darlings Flaming Death Trap and Dubb Nubb will also perform.
