My Chemical Romance

8 p.m. Tuesday, December 14. The Pageant, 6161 Delmar Boulevard.

You know the phrase "Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger"? Well, we wouldn't be surprised if the four members of New Jersey rock troupe My Chemical Romance have that tattooed on their bodies. This is a band that was borne out of the 9/11 disaster, drew songwriting inspiration from dead relatives and had a drummer who almost died from injuries sustained during a video shoot. Things aren't getting any easier, either: The process through which MCR wrote and recorded its fourth album, the recently released Danger Days: The True Lives of The Fabulous Killjoys, was incredibly labor intensive. Of course, you'd never guess the band members were having anything but the times of their lives on Danger Days; the first single, "Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)," sounds like a comic book put to music.
