Meg & Dia

6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 4. Creepy Crawl (3524 Washington Boulevard).

It's easy to compare Meg & Dia to fellow femmes Paramore, Tegan and Sara, Eisley and even the Murmurs. However, there's no easy way to pigeonhole the music crafted by these sisters. The pair's hit, "Monster," finds Dia doing her best impression of Avril, but it's not a band for the TRL set; another song showcases earnest vocals amid acoustic strums, while another contains daggers of electric guitar that bleed into swells of noise. Occasionally the audience may even suspect that Dia has vocally hijacked Alkaline Trio. And while literate lyrics will appeal to bibliophiles, Meg & Dia's motley music style will appeal to everyone.
