Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise is the first feature documentary about the world-renowned writer, performer, and activist. This richly-textured film provides a comprehensive look at Angelou’s life and work, including her St. Louis roots, her years in Ghana during the decolonization of Africa, her involvement in the civil rights movement, and her tenure as one of America’s most influential voices. Presented in partnership with the Missouri History Museum as part of the Henry Hampton Film Series.
