The Muny closes its current season with Hello, Dolly!, a classic tale of matchmaking that debuted on Broadway 50 years ago. In an age where the word "cupid" conjures up more dating fails than wins, Dolly is a show that has only become more romantic with time. Tony Award-winning actress Beth Leavel (pictured) plays the prying widow Dolly Levi, whose efforts to surreptitiously pair herself with the curmudgeonly Horace Vandergelder find her making more romance for others than she bargained for. Come for the song and dance, and stay for actor John O'Hurley's performance as Horace -- his silver locks and smooth delivery will make even the most skeptical yearn for one more song. Both Leavel and O'Hurley lit up the Muny last year (in Nunsense Muny Style and Spamalot, respectively), and it's so good to have both actors back where they belong. Hello, Dolly! is performed at 8:15 p.m. Monday through Sunday (August 11 through 17) at the Muny in Forest Park (314-361-1900 or www.muny.org). Tickets are $14 to $85.
