When: Fri., April 5, 7-8 p.m. and Sat., April 6, 2-3 p.m. 2019
Commissioned by the Pulitzer, internationally recognized artist and choreographer Maria Hassabi will perform a new work created in response to both the architecture of the museum and the exhibition on view, Striking Power: Iconoclasm in Ancient Egypt. Hassabi has created a choreographic practice that concentrates on the deceleration of movement until it evokes sculpture and image, testing conventional rhythms of viewership in the process.
