Makes Scents

Art primarily engages your visual sense, with occasional forays into the tactile or auditory realms. Smell has been sadly neglected, until now. Katherine Rhodes Fields' Scratch and Sniff features images appropriated from the stag magazines of the '70s set against backgrounds that trigger both innuendo and your sense of smell. In other words, picture a centerfold reclining on a bed of fried chicken, and then smell it. Scratch and Sniff opens with a free public reception from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, October 15, at Good Citizen Gallery (2247 Gravois Avenue; 314-348-4587 or www.goodcitizenstl.com). The show remains up through Saturday, November 13, and the gallery is open from noon to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Fridays, Saturdays. Starts: Oct. 15. Continues through Nov. 13, 2010
