Livin’ in the Past

May 9, 2007 at 4:00 am
This Tuesday through Sunday (May 15 through 20), the St. Charles Community College (4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, Cottleville) brings history alive with biographical plays, a film, a lecture and live musical performances during its History Theatre Festival. On opening night, witness “Conversations with John and Abigail Adams,” a one-act performance, at 6:15 p.m. ($3 to $4), followed by a free screening of Audrey Hepburn’s classic Cinderella story, Sabrina, at 7 p.m. Adapted from Samuel A. Taylor’s play by director Billy Wilder, Sabrina co-stars Humphrey Bogart in an atypical non-noir role (he was cast when Cary Grant dropped out a week before shooting). For a complete listing of the other History Theatre Festival happenings, including a staging of Mister Lincoln and “The Wilson Kids and Tom Paine,” call 636-922-8050 or visit www.stchas.edu.
