Literacy Is Not Trivial

Studio STL is an up-and-coming organization working to aid children (colloquially known as "the kids") achieve literary and writing supremacy. The group is angling for membership in Dave Eggers' 826 Valencia Young Writers Program — but that's in the future. Right now, Studio STL Young Friends host a trivia night to raise money for the kids' needs. The questions are of a decidedly literary bent, so if you happen to know Vladimir Nabakov's middle name (we put down "Albert Pujols"), Joseph Conrad's favorite legume (we're pretty sure it's the lentil) or who's credited with first using second-person narrative (we went with "you did"), well, you're clearly going to whup up on our team. See you from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Schlafly Bottleworks (7260 Southwest Avenue, Maplewood; www.studiostl.org). Tickets are $10 per person or $100 for a table.
