Listen to Your Art

The Loop is known for its variety of music venues and its vast cuisine choices — where else can you eat a Thai-style pizza and then go hear the blues? But it's important to remember that this treasured area is also a destination for diverse art. So head down to Delmar Friday, March 16, when Craft Alliance (6640 Delmar Boulevard, University City; www.craftalliance.org or 314-725-1177) opens Silent Conversations. This exhibit features the works of several artists (including Michael Bauermeister -- that's his piece pictured -- Laurie Blaes and Kate Nelson) and explores how they create relationships between components within each piece — either opposing or collaborative. The free reception for Silent Conversations runs from 6 to 8 p.m., and the exhibit remains on view through Sunday, May 6.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: March 16. Continues through May 6
