Let the Eyes Have It

All summer long, your eyes have put up with your routine. Day in and day out, they scan that computer monitor, take in your Tuesday TV programs, deliver when you dole out your penetrating stare and suffer through all of those “casual” glances in the mirror. The William Shearburn Gallery (4735 McPherson Avenue; 314-367-8020) has just the thing to set those overwrought optic organs sparkling again: a new Group Show of eye-rewarding works of art. The show features an incredibly diverse selection, including pieces by the pioneering abstract expressionist Robert Motherwell, neo-Dada-Pop-artist Jim Dine and the mysterious Philadelphia Wireman -- the unknown outsider artist who abandoned some 1,200 wire sculptures near a Philadelphia transient home. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and the exhibit remains up through Friday, August 24. Visit www.shearburngallery.com for more information.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: July 20. Continues through Aug. 24
