The Radio Arts Foundation has enriched St. Louis with its commitment to the arts via RAF-STL (107.3-FM) since 2013. The radio station brought classical music back to the airwaves after Classic 99 was shut down, also expanding its mandate to include jazz, blues and the general cultural health of the metro area. But to do so, it needs donors — hence the Radio Arts Foundation Gala. This year's fundraiser is a concert called "Leonard Slatkin and Friends," plus dinner and cocktails. Slatkin is joined by classical guitarist Sharon Isbin, pianist Olga Kern, violinist Cho-Liang Lin and on cello, Frederick Zlotkin (who, despite a slightly different last name, is in fact the brother of Leonard). The performance takes place at 8 p.m. at the Sheldon (3648 Washington Boulevard; www.rafstl.org). Tickets for the concert only are $50 to $60. Tickets for the gala and reception start at $500.
Price: $50-$60 for concert only, $500 for gala
