He introduced the world to Nas and the production possibilities of the SP1200 via Breaking Atoms, the 1991 debut of his old crew, Main Source. But Large Professor's rep as a visionary also rests on the early single "Fakin' the Funk," which anticipated every debate about bling and "keepin' it real" that has consumed hip-hop over the past decade-and-a-half. School's back in session with the Prof this Friday as he teams up with Chicago emcee, radio DJ and TV host Pugslee Atomz, who enlisted fellow Windy City rhymers Common and Kanye protégé Rhymefest to appear on his new mix CD.
